Blank NEWS Online (NIGERIA) –From Albert OGRAKA/Prosper ETENE:

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Isoko South local Government Area of Delta State, Odio Obaro Godspower, has advised the DC-23, to put its house together ahead of the 2023 governorship elections.

Odio Obaro, gave the advice while speaking on behalf of the leaders and stakeholders of Isoko South Local Government Area, when the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23) lobby group paid them consultative visit at James Otobo Ekpre hall, Isoko South Secretariat on Sunday 23rd January, 2022.

He said said, “The field appears to be overcrowded by your people; your children are overcrowding the field. We advise you to unite the political class in your district and also prune down your aspirants for easy primary election.

“The Urhobos and Isokos are one; Isoko is closer to us than any other tribe. The governorship of Delta state has been rotated round; it has gone to Delta South, Delta North and Delta Central. We want it to come back to where we started.

“We have been one like you have seen; from time we have been one, and it’s not in our era that we are going to have a separation. We only do hope like an English man said, one good turn deserves another.

“We want Delta Central to stand by their word of supporting Isoko and Delta South Senatorial District in 2031. On this note, I want to personally request Isoko South Political Leaders to stand behind Urhobo, because it is the turn of Delta Central.
However, remember us when it is the turn of Delta South to produce the governor in 2031.

“We want to also let you know that our Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, has done very well in the overall development of the state. We urge you to support him to finish strong.”

Earlier, the National Chairman of DC-23, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori, stated that the body was a lobby group made up of card carrying members of the PDP in the Delta Central Senatorial District to lobby support for the governorship seat for the district in 2023.

He noted that the DC-23 was not different from the G-3 of the Delta South Senatorial District that was formed to drive the process of election of immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and the Anioma Agenda that was formed in 2014 to propel the process of election of the current governor of the state, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa.
