ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE: OLEH COMMUNITY ELECTS NEW EXECCUTIVE

Oleh community development union has elected a thirteen member executive to pilot the affairs of the community for the next two years, during the December 2018 annual conference held at Oleh civic centre, Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

While conducting the election, the chairman of Isoko South local government area, represented by the secretary, Mr Kola Obrogo, urged delegates from various quarters of the community and joint abroad branches delegates to ensure that the constitution guidelines for the community election are strictly adhered.

The election was transparent and peaceful even as option A4 was adopted after screening of the delegates. Comrade Chief Believe Alakri was elected the president general of Oleh community development union, Barrister Oriki Obaro as secretary, Hon. Chever Ohoriemu as public relation officer and Mrs. Itewo Juliana as women leader.

Others are chief Okpro Joseph as vice president, Mr. Obomaruwe J. Evawere as financial secretary, Mr. May U. Omomo as treasurer, Engr. Samson Origho as assistant secretary, Mr. Odio Vincent as Uzokpa quarter representative, Mr. Ubara Gabriel as Eviewho quarter representative, Mr. Ozaga Joel as Itesa quarter representative, Mrs. Victoria Azino as assistant women leader and Mrs. Janet Urude as the women secretary.

Earlier, the former care – taker committee chairman of the community, comrade Federal O. Ufih in his address commended Sir Itiako Ikpokpo for sustainable peace and development in Oleh community, noting that the mandate given to them was to reconcile and bring together all faction at loggerhead and broker peace among them. He added that the review of the community constitution and conduct of election into the various offices of the union were the cardinal objectives.

Comrade Ufih urged the elected officers to conduct themselves such that the community democratic maturity will be emulated by other neighbors, stressing that same gesture should be extended to the 2019 general election. He maintained that the collective co-existence of Oleh people be fostered and preserved by the process of peace and positive agenda for sustainable development of the community.

The elected president general of Oleh community, comrade Chief believe Alakri commended the care – taker committee for successful election even as he promised to run inclusive government and ensure equitable development of the community. Chief Alakri also thanked the electoral committee chairman, Mr. Fredrick Oneke and members of the committee for peaceful and transparent election.
