Managing Director/CEO of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun Askia Ogieh, has expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction work on the Phase One of the Four Kilometers Emevor Bypass road under construction by DESOPADEC.

The Managing Director, who was on an inspection visit to the project site, alongside the Executive Director, Projects, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, the Head of Works, the Head of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Chief Security Officer and a host of other engineers, were on ground to ascertain the level of work and ensure compliance to specifications.

They were received by the Commissioner representing the Isoko Nationality at DESOPADEC, Dr. Paul Oweh, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Health Monitoring, Dr. Nelson Ejakpovi and the President General of Emevor Community, Chief Moses Agboro and other community representatives.

The team commended the pace and quality of work being done by the contractor who was on site, saying that the job is being done according to specifications and design of the road.

Meanwhile, he asphalting was ongoing as at the time of the inspection.

Bashorun Askia, who commended the community for the cooperation being given to the contractor, noted that “hopefully, the contractor will meet the completion target as stipulated.

He added that “It is our hope that in future budget circles, the other phases of the road will be considered for awards to take care of the remaining two kilometres and the Eight Kilometre drainage.”

The President General on behalf of the Emevor Community, however, expressed satisfaction with the level of work and thanked DESOPADEC, the Delta State government as well as Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for awarding the road contract to ease movement in the community.
