Bashorun Askia Gets Prestigious Papal Award

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Executive Director (Finance and Administration) at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun (Hon.) Askia Ogieh JP, has been bestowed with the prestigious Papal’s Award at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Oleh.

This is widely acclaimed as the highest award the Pope can give to anyone according to the Catholic faith.

Making the presentation, representative of the Obi of Aboh kingdom, HRM Obi Imegwu, accompanied by His Royal Majesty, Anthony William Onovughe Ovrawah, (JP) FCAI, Omogha I, the Odio-Ologbo of Oleh Kingdom.

In his speech, Bashorun Askia expressed deep appreciation to the to the Catholic Pontiff for finding him worthy of the Award.

Recall also that the Delta State Youth of HOSTCOM, led by Comrade Lawrence Oloku on Monday, March 26, 2018 presented an Award in appreciation for his support for the Organisation.

Bashorun Askia Ogieh has gannered a number of awards, including the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Merit Award presented by the West African Students Union (WASU), an umbrella body that covers all students within the West African Countries on Thursday 23rd February, 2017.
