“Be Creators Of Labor By Engaging In Entrepreneurial Schemes” Say Ogidi Gbegbaje

The Permanent Secretary Directorate of Government House and Protocol Mr. Edwin Ogidi-Gbebaje has charged youths to be creators of labor by availing themselves to the entrepreneurial schemes created by state government.

Speaking on Thursday, July 2, 2015 during the Send forth ceremony organized by the Directorate in honor of the Batch B National Youth Service Corp, Mr. Ogidi- Gbegbaje explained that due to the unemployment situation facing the nation youths should learn to be self reliant by keying into entrepreneurial schemes created by the state government rather than wait for white collar jobs.

“Due to the high unemployment rate in the country it is important that youths heed the clarion call to be creators of labor by keying into the entrepreneurial schemes by government instead of waiting for white collar jobs”.

He commended the outgoing corps members for their exemplary characters and service during their service in the Directorate saying ” During your service here there were no negative reports which speak volumes about your character and as you leave this Directorate maintain that good behavior and strength of character and I assure you that you will not be deterred as you go into the labour market”.

The Permanent Secretary charged them to be good ambassadors of the state adding that they should be self sufficient by creating opportunities for themselves rather than wait for white collar jobs.

In a brief response, Mr. Oyebode Khalulalim who spoke on behalf of his colleagues expressed appreciation for the support they received during their service in the Directorate.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of souvenirs to the outgoing corps members by the Permanent Secretary and other officers in the Directorate.

He continued “Another way to improve yourselves is by furthering your education so study subjects that will make you more marketable.”
