Delta Speaker Pledges More Infrastructures In Public Schools *Donates Books To Students

Delta State Government has promised to sustain the drive in provision of infrastructures in public schools in the state.

The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Right Hon Peter Onwusanya, gave the assurance when he presented exercise books to more than 3,000 Senior Secondary School Three (SSS3) students preparing to write the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE), next year.

The Speaker who was represented by his Special Adviser, Ogbueshi Joseph Ikediashi (Agbalanze) and the Political Adviser, Mr. Eloka Nwanze, explained that in the past few years, the state government has invested heavily in the education sector to justify its policy on human capital development.

He said schools in Oshimili South Constituency would continue to receive his attention because of his interest in empowering adults, youths and children in the area.

Hon Onwusanya while responding to request by some principals also promised that the state government will soon embark on building and renovation of more schools in the area.

The speaker while commending the governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan over his support to the education sector, especially schools in Oshimili South Constituency, called on the people to continue to support government programmes especially the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

He said government will continue to reciprocate their support by embarking on peoples oriented programmes in the state.

He further assured the principals that everything they lacked in their various schools would be addressed appropriately, considering government resources.

Responding, the principal of West End Mixed Secondary School, Mrs Azuka Nwokolo and her counterpart at Zappa Mixed Secondary School, Mrs. Maria Okonkwo, thanked the speaker for the gesture, and prayed God to give him the strength to work for his constituents.

Other schools that benefitted from the gesture include Zappa Basic, Asagba Mixed, Niger Mixed, Okwe Mixed and Osadenis High Schools.
