DESOPADEC Disowns “Fake” Bursary Portal

The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, has declared that a fake, criminal scholarship portal is currently trending online.

A statement signed by Chinenye Ezonfade, Head, Media & Public Affairs Department, urged members of the public, especially students from DESOPADEC mandate areas to disregard the alleged portal in its entirety, since it did not emanate from the Commission.

The statement reads,

RE: DESOPADEC 2022/2023 BURSARY & SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR UNDERGRADUATES:

…A REBUTTAL!

It has come to our notice of a fake, criminal scholarship portal that  is trending online, purported to have emanated from Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, and targeted at students of our mandate areas.

This is to inform the general public, especially students from our mandate areas, that the said portal/publication was not from DESOPADEC and as such, should be disregarded in its entirety.

For sure, DESOPADEC has always been desirous of giving students of our mandate areas opportunities to key into benefitting from our bursary and scholarship programmes in the past and is still in the process of doing so.

We are however yet to open our portal for that purpose, for the current session. When we do, we will surely let everyone know about it through the instrumentality of our mandate areas students associations.

We therefore wish to appeal that the fake portal should be disregarded forthwith.
