ETERIGHO ONANEFE JOSHUA (2015/2016 CYCLE)
LGA: ISOKO SOUTH
ENTERPRISE: BARBING

OUR STEPreneur for this week is Joshua Onanefe Eterigho, the CEO of Adept Spring Unisex Salon, Azagba Ogwashi. He has an HND in Graphic Design from Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic. He was trained in Barbing in the Delta State Government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) and has long diversified into Hairdressing and Makeover. He owns a flourishing unisex salon at Azagba-Ogwashi. He is an employer, a trainer and a resource person at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, where he was appointed a Resource Person for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (EED) 216, ND II in the Department of Civil Engineering. Hear him.

“My passion for Hairdressing led me into this. I diversified into barbing after my OND. My greatest achievement is the ability to build a team, who represent me anytime, anywhere. I have trained more than 10 persons and I have two employees. I acquired a plot of land and was able to sponsor myself back to school for HND in Graphic Designs. Gradually, I shall go into full-time commercial graphic designing too.

“My family and dependants now have better livelihood. I also trained my younger brother to be very skilled in Hairdressing and Makeover. Delta youths should develop the passion to embrace entrepreneurship and vocational skills. Skills give independence and the opportunity of being one’s own boss.

“I thank Governor Okowa for giving me the platform through which I was recognised for an appointment in Ogwashi-Uku Poly.”
