I Will Establish Skill Acquisition Training Centre on Leather Works, Modern Trends in Fashion, Says STEPreneur Aphia

Blank NEWS Online (NIGERIA) –By Gertrude Onyekachukwu-UTEH:

APHIA, ROSELINE, a 2017/2018 Cycle beneficiary of the Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP), is our STEPreneur for the week. Roseline hails from Ughelli North Local Government Area and was trained and established in Fashion Design and Tailoring. She is a trainer, an employer and the CEO of Fit Style Fashion Enterprise located in Asaba.

Though a trained teacher, her passion for entrepreneurship and self-employment motivated her to skill up in Fashion Designing and Tailoring. She belongs to the category of Brown STEP. Her love for creativity took her further into acquiring skills in Fashion Craft and Leather Works. These of course make her works unique as her wears have bags, hats and other accessories to go with them. She is also known for making of female hats and fascinators.

After four years of practice, she has an extensive client portfolio. She has bought three additional machines, leather works equipment, maintains two shops, trained eleven persons and has three employees. She has acquired a plot of land too.

She does online training on Fashion Craft through which she has trained four persons whom she confirmed are doing well. For her aspirations, she has this to say,

“In five years’ time, I hope to establish a skill acquisition centre where I will train people on leather works, how to make purses, bags, souvenirs and modern trends in fashion. The scheme has made great impact on me and my family”
