NIGERIA AT 59: IKPOKPO HARPS ON SUSTAINING GOVT RELATIONSHIP WITH PEOPLE OF ISOKO SOUTH

The chairman of Isoko South local government area and chairman Association of local government of Nigeria (ALGON) Delta State, Sir Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, has assured the people of Isoko South of sustaining government cordial relationship towards making government nearer to the people and to ensure commensurate dividends of democracy.

Sir Ikpokpo made the statement at Oleh stadium, Isoko South local government area during Nigeria’s 59th Independence Day celebration. He noted that his government will not disappoint the people, saying “I will not disappoint you people at ensuring that government policies are adequately implemented towards the development of the area”.

The local government boss urged students and pupils to rehearse the states anthem and sing along the National anthem which according to him is necessary towards sustaining education values in schools and building good legacies for this generation.

Ikpokpo took the salute even as students and primary pupils of public and private schools displayed the match pass parade. Others on natch pass parade were councilors of Isoko South legislative arm, youth coppers, women group and hon Kenneth Ogba’s support group.

Cultural dances and coral songs were presented by students and pupils from various schools to entertain over three thousand spectators at the stadium. The highlight of the event was teachers 100 meters raze, chairman’s dance by the students and pupils which culminated to the presentation of souvenirs to winners during the contest.

In attendance was hon. Kenneth Ogba, member Delta State House of Assembly representing Isoko South constituency 1, Sir Matthias Eto, former commissioner public complaints commission Delta State, traditional rulers, Mr Okpuyovwi Jonathan, chief inspector of education Isoko South and Mr. Sammy Edegbo, secretary local government education authority.

Others are Oleh Division Police Officer (D.P.O) CSP Mohammed Nahal, Councilors of Isoko South legislative arm, Heads of secondary and primary public schools, Heads of private schools, Mr. Odorewu Raphael, P.D.P. chairman Isoko South, women groups and a cross section of students and pupils from various schools among others in Isoko South local government area.
