-Blank NEWS Online (NIGERIA):

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), on Thursday announced that 5,000 people are to be engaged in the next few days.

The 5,000 candidates are part of the 1,477,033 graduate applicants which commenced the recruitment exercise started in October 2019

Secretary of the Board of Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration, (CDCFIB), Hajiya Aisha Rufa’i, made this known at a media briefing organized by the NSCDC and the board, in Abuja.

She said the applicants who took part in the last Computer Based Test, (CBT), are to log into the recruitment portal of the board, CDCFIB, to access a coded job offer letter alongside basic information such as the date they can come for documentation and accreditation.

She however said that those that were not successful will not be able to access the recruitment portal as the system has been set to lock them out automatically.

Rufa’i said: “I want to assure Nigerians that the recruitment process was not stopped because there has been a lot of anxiety over whether the recruitment would at all take place or not. It was stalled because of reasons beyond our control one of which everybody knows that it is the COVID which cause lot of other issues that had triple effect on many other areas of the process.

“However, after the process of shortlisting of 6,500 applicants (during the CBT), whose certificates were verified and physically screened, 5,000 were shortlisted as successful. This is the stage that we are and the accreditation of the 5,000 successful applicants are going to start from today so our notice.”

Rufa’I also said that “the board of civil defence, corrections, fire and immigration service is hereby asking applicants’, those 5,000 that are successful, to please visit the same site that they applied through, to check if their names are their or if they have letters of invitation.

“The site is cdcfib.careers, they know the site because they used it to apply. Their checking will start from Monday, 17th of January 22. For accreditation, we are now giving 72 hours for this to reach the public then the actual accreditation will start on January 31st 2022.”

She said the moment those that are successful access the portal, it will open for them to receive their job offer letters but for the 1,500 that were not successful out of the 6,500, they will not be able to access the portal “so don’t panic.

If you are successful, the portal will open and you will see a letter addressed to you. Another point to note is that each letter will carry individual information and will specify the date you are coming for accreditation.”

Commandant-General of the Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, also said the exercise was done through a transparent process and the media briefing is to update Nigerians of the current situation and the completion of the last process and stage of the recruitment selection.

The CG said when the portal was first open on October 2019 for recruitment, 1,477,033 applied and then in December 2020, 53,116 responded for the interview after a selection process .This number were later invited for a computer based test organised in conjunction with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB).

“After the CBT, 6,500 applicants were shortlisted for screening and certificate verification out of which. This is the process, now the process has been concluded.”
