BELLARKS Polytechnic has been officially opened by the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, at the administrative ground of the institution Kwale, Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State.

Governor Okowa who was represented by Chief Ifeanyi Osai, Hon. Commissioner for Primary School Education, commended the proprietor of the institution, Mr. Joe Ebinum for the huge investment and assured of government support, noting that the state government will continue to provide the needed condusive environment for private institutions to thrive in the state.

Okowa stated that private initiative will complement the state government’s huge investment in higher education, adding that the quest for higher education will create sustainable development, competent accountability, excellence in science, technology and vocational education.

He urged institutions to add problem solving schemes, professionalism, lifelong collaboration, communication skill technology and computer skill required in the field of science and technology, noting that the state government policy trust of education sector is to accommodate changes and technology in labour market and general global environment.

Governor Okowa urged the management of Bellarks Polytechnic to use the curriculum that accomodate technical vocational skill to promote self employment, even as he reiterated the value of education in any society.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony, Chief Nze Ananyi, chairman of the day, commended Mr. Joe Ebinum for the improvement in the standard of education in Delta State through the employment of highly qualified lecturers. He thanked the Rector and other members of the academic board for the display of technology skills leading to the accreditation of the institution within a short period of inception.

He stated that Bellarks Polytechnic has received National Diploma accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education in the following courses, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, General Administration, Statistics and Computer Science.

Ananyi maintained that the official inuaguration of the institution will bridge the gap of education in Delta State and Ndokwa nation in particular. He enjoined the students to shun all form of social vices and create a bridge for themselves by making the best use of the facilities and be self reliant for national productivity.

For his part, Hon. Charles Emetulu, member Delta State House of Assembly representing Ndokwa nation and member House Committee on education, urged Ndokwa people to patronize Bellarks Polytechnic for admission, noting that the small beginning will generate to big institution and promised to visit the school always.

*Rector, Dr. Egbule Solomon

Earlier, the Rector of Bellarks Polytechnic, Dr. Egbule A. C. Solomon said, the school management inducted 80 students into the Polytechnics accredited five departments at the first matriculation/induction ceremony. He noted that the institution is centered on students acquiring skills that promotes self reliance, thereby addressing Nigeria unemployment challenge.

The proprietor of the institution, Mr. Joe Ebinum, while commending Governor Okowa and other guests for the institution opening ceremony stated that, the vision for technical education started in 2008 and took hard work, resilience and tenacity to accredit the five courses of the institution.

He added that the reason for establishing Bellarks Polytechnic is to create a level playing field for students and investors. Ebinum urged others that have the vision to make it a reality.
