In his determination to entrench lasting peace in his kingdom, Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has intervened in the internal crisis between the Itsekiri monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse II (Olu of Warri) and his people.

The Governor who hails from the Itsekiri minority tribe in Delta state, appealed to the men, women and youths of Itsekiri nation to remain calm and peaceful as “efforts were on top gear to ensure that reasons prevailed over the matter.”

Uduaghan, who addressed the aggrieved parties on Sunday, September 08, 2013 at the palace ground of the Olu of Warri, assured the people that “everything will come back to normal soon as all efforts were been made to address their grievances.”

He informed them that he has already discussed with the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, Chiefs and Youths and that all parties were willing to give peace a chance.

The Governor who has been described in many quarters as peace loving, thanked the youths for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner and urged them to remain peaceful and embrace the Peace and Security initiative of his administration.

The Leader of the Youths, Mr. Omolubi Newuwuni had appealed to the youths to hearken to the voice of the governor who has come to ensure that peace was maintained in the kingdom.
