PRESS RELEASE: FREE EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE SCHEMES STILL ON COURSE IN DELTA

 Nigeria, August 19, 2015, (Blank NEWS Online) – 20140305173328-delta_state-final

The State Government wishes to inform the general public that it has not abolished its free education and free health care schemes in the state.

This clarification has become necessary on account rumours making the round especially in the social media that the programmes have been suspended.

We wish to state categorically and in line with the administration’s S.M.A.R.T agenda that the free education scheme in primary and secondary schools and the free health care schemes in our hospitals in the state are still operational and nobody should pay any form of fees for them.

For the avoidance of doubt, any official who collect any levy in our schools and hospitals should be reported to the relevant authority and the full weight of the law will be visited on that person.

Please be guided accordingly.

Signed:
Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu
(Chief Press Secretary to the Governor)
