STEP Transformed Me from Liability to Provider, Says Efijemueh

By Gertrude Onyekachukwu-Uteh and Ese Laura Oghene:

Rita Efijemueh, the CEO of Ritofex World, hails from Uvwie Local Government Area. Though a graduate of Mass Communication, she trained in Decoration and Event Management in the 2016/2017 cycle of Delta State Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Training (STEP), after seven years of unemployment.

She is passionate about what she does for a living as she unreservedly expressed her gratitude to the State Government for the job creation programme. Hear her.

“STEP has exposed me to people and places I have notmet and travelled to before.  I am good in my job, so I get lots of referrals from clients. To increase my streams of income, I diversified into baking of cakes. Therefore, I specialize in decoration, cakes and rentals.

“I acquired five double canopies, a bridal canopy, 100 chairs, lots of fabrics in all colours, bouquets, chair and table covers etc.  The income is good; I am already paying for a plot of land. My husband is happy and proud of me.

“I have trained seven persons who have graduated, remaining a trainee. STEP transformed my life from a liability to a provider.”
