A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state, Bashorun (Hon.) Askia Ogieh JP, has urged Nigerians, especially Deltans to massively support the election and re-election of the duo of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as Nigeria’s president and Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as Delta state governor respectively, with their votes in the 2019 general elections.
Bashorun Askia, who is also the Executive Director (Finance and Administration) at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), said that the track records of both the Presidential and Delta Governorship flag bearers of the PDP speak volumes of fulfillment of promises, detribalization and humility, hence the electorate should demonstrate their love for them with their votes.
He maintained that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s remarkable achievements as Nigeria’s former Vice President and his penchant for the practice of true federalism has endeared him to the hearts of all Nigerians who have been yearning to control and grow their natural God endowed resources sprouting across the length and breadth of the country.
The PDP chieftain who has been mobilizing and galvanizing various grassroot support groups for the election of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta state, insisted that Nigerians, particularly Deltans have so much to gain.
According to him, “In Delta state, the only thing the people crave for now is sustainable peace to fast-track the development process being driven by His Excellency Governor Ifeanyi Okowa through job and wealth creation, agricultural reforms, road infrastructure, urban-rural transformaion, peace building as well as education and health for all Deltans. That is why they have vowed to re-elect him for a second time because the projects and programmes of the governor are campaigning for him ahead of the 2019 general elections.”
Bashorun Askia described the Delta state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as uncommon assets that will provide the needed leadership for the transformation of the nation’s economy which will bring about better living standard for the people.
While calling on the electorates to vote massively for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Patty in the forthcoming general elections, Bashorun Askia appealed to all Nigerians to collect their permanent voters cards to enable them vote out the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal government which he maintained has impoverished Nigerians
He however reiterated his earlier call on all eligible voters in Nigeria, especially members of the PDP to massively support the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections in order to return the country to the part of good governance, rule of law as well as security of lives and property.
