2019 Polls: Delta Govt Alters Academic Calendar For Public, Private Schools **Adopts 2 Mid-Term Breaks

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has amended the approved school calendar for 2018/2019, academic session for primary and post-primary schools both public and private, in Delta State to accommodate the period scheduled for the general elections.

A statement signed by the Director of Information, Mr Paul Osahor indicated that the amended school calendar is, Thursday February 14 to Tuesday February 19, 2019 and Thursday February 28 to Tuesday March 5, 2019 would be observed as mid-term breaks in the state.

The statement further stated that consequently upon the amendment, all public and private primary and post-primary schools, day and boarding, in the state are to observe two mid-term breaks in the second term of the academic session.
It advised school heads, proprietors, guardians, students and pupils to take note of the amendment and act accordingly.

The amended school calendar is as follows:

                                i.            Thursday, 14th to Tuesday 19th February, 2019;

                              ii.            Thursday, 28thFebruary to Tuesday, 5th March, 2019.
