In what now stands as a masterstroke of political foresight, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has been decisively vindicated following the mass defection of the entire PDP political structure in Delta State to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The recent alignment, spearheaded by Delta state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and other top PDP leaders, validates the senator’s earlier move, once criticized but now clearly prophetic.

In a fiery yet composed interview on Kakaaki, the senator’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, laid bare the foresight and courage that underpinned the senator’s defection earlier in the year, describing the political shift as “a decision born out of the need to protect and deliver real development to the people of Delta North.”

“When Senator Ned Nwoko defected from the PDP to the APC, we were hit with backlash from all sides,” Dr. Nwoko recounted.

“Even those closest to us criticized our decision. But as we now see, those who condemned us then have now joined us, a clear admission that Senator Nwoko saw what others failed to see at the time.”

Dr. Nwoko emphasized that the senator’s decision was not driven by politics of convenience, but by a fundamental need to align with a party structure that would allow him to fulfill his campaign promises and bring meaningful development to Delta North.

“The environment within the PDP had become too toxic, stifling the delivery of projects and engagement with the people.

“It was a matter of principle and responsibility to move to where his people would benefit most,” he said.

The Chief of Staff acknowledged the concerns of long-standing APC members regarding the recent wave of defections, but reassured them that efforts are already underway to harmonize and integrate all factions to strengthen the party in preparation for the 2027 elections.

“We are not here to cause division but to unify and fortify. There will be full reconciliation between old and new APC members. Our goal is to deliver not just electoral victories, but real governance,” Dr. Nwoko added.

He called on all stakeholders in Delta APC to maintain cohesion, recognizing that the three APC Senators in the state—including Senator Ned Nwoko, form a formidable backbone of party leadership.

“Our senator must be fully involved in decisions affecting his district. Governance should not bypass elected leaders, it must include them,” Dr. Nwoko stressed, insisting that disregarding internal structures could endanger the unity currently being built

.

As Delta State becomes a political battlefield ahead of 2027, Senator Ned Nwoko stands today not as a defector, but as a trailblazer who chose progress over politics, and vision over validation.

His unwavering commitment to his constituents and bold political choices have not only redefined the landscape of Delta politics but also reaffirmed his place as one of the most strategic minds in Nigeria’s evolving democratic story.
