Nigeria’s Federal Government has ordered the immediate, unonditional reinstatement of the 16,000 resident doctors sacked during the nationwide NMA strike.

The Nigerian Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, through his spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh, tweeted that the doctors had been reinstated saying this took effect from Thursday.

Nwomeh further said the Federal Government also lifted the suspension of the Residency Training Programme in all federal hospitals.

His statement directed all the Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of training centres to re-issue letters of reinstatement to the resident doctors.
