The Delta State Chairman of Labour Party, Chief Tony Ezeagwu has advocated for part time status for State and National Assembly members, noting that such a move will nip desperation by politicians in the bud.

Chief Ezeagu also said that making such offices part time will in no small measure determine those who genuinely want to serve the people.

The Labour Party Chairman also condemned the high cost of governance which he said has led to desperation to seek elective office by politicians.

On the current gale of defections across the country, Chief Ezeagwu said it was a normal phenomenon that precedes elections and said it was mostly based on self interest.

On the recent MOU signed by the leadership of the party and other political parties to oust President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC at the national level come the 2019 presidential elections, Chief Ezeagwu said he was awaiting further information from the party hierarchy on details of the MOU.
