Managing Director/CEO of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun Askia Ogieh, FCNA, CrFA, has felicitated with Christians on the celebration of Christmas, urging them to always express genuine love by being meek, grateful and giving Thanksgiving to God.

Bashorun Askia gave the charge in a Christmas Message, titled “Awesome Wonderful God,” where he described the outgoing year 2020 as, “Tough, challenging, crippling, deadly”.

He however expressed hope that despite the ugly challenges, there was still every reason to celebrate the season, for “He has kept us faithfully to witness again, the jingles of the bells that announced His Coming for our salvation.”

The Christmas Massage reads:
“Tough, challenging, crippling, deadly”. All these and more capture the uncertainties packed into the outgoing year.
The year unleashed what the world now calls Covid-19 Pandemic, a sickness still without cure. For us in Nigeria, the lockdown that came with the pandemic ultimately plunged our economy into what the International Monetary Fund (IMF) called severe recession.
In all these, however, the Most High God has preserved and upheld us and our loved ones.

“For our staff and critical stakeholders, we have reason to celebrate the season, for He has kept us faithfully to witness again, the jingles of the bells that announced His Coming for our salvation.

“Let us spread round, the warmth and love of the season to our loved ones, through meekness, gratitude and Thanksgiving.

“As you enjoy the festivities, please accept my heartfelt best wishes to you all and your families for a safe and enjoyable Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
