Nigerians have been advised to pick up admissions from Ghanaian ivory towers in order to reinforce the relationship existing between Nigeria and Ghana that date back to the colonial era.

Both Nigeria and Ghana were colonized by the British government and they have had various sports and cultural exchanges way back encouraged mostly by the colonialists.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday during the registration of students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs of the Institution, Margaret Dzisi said educational exchange is one of the ways to encourage relationship between Ghana and Nigeria.

She insisted that by the time there are no barriers to Nigerians studying in Ghana and vice versa, the brotherliness that have been existing for ages would further be cemented.

She said KNUST remains a world class citadel of learning that has produced great students, urging Nigerian students to avail themselves of top class education that the institution offers.

She noted that apart from degrees in science and technology which was why the institution was established, degrees are offered in medicine, social and management sciences.

She said the in that the school is really international and create atmosphere for students from across the global.

Dzisi while noting that at present tuition for foreign students are paid in dollars, she disclosed that plans are underway to get Nigerian students to pay in Naira. She said at present they allowed for tuition to be structured in a way that would be easy for parents to pay.

She said the admission train had earlier been in Lagos and Port Harcourt and would conclude the exercise in Abuja, while revealing that in future the registration would be done in other Nigerian cities.

The Deputy Registrar said between 500 and 800 students would be given admission to in Nigeria, adding that in the past over 2000 students were admitted annually.
