Ahead of the up-coming LGA elections in Delta State, a socio-political interest group, Ukwuani Volunteers, has adopted Mr. Chris Ogoegbunem Ijibike as the group’s sole candidate for Ukwuani Chairmanship.
The adoption was made known after an exclusive meeting to mark its mid-year confrence which was held at Obiaruku Ukwuani LGA.
While reading the letter of adoption, the National Seceretary of the group, Mr. Emeka Ossai stated that, “Ukwuani LGA needed to be restructured, rebranded, remolded and delivered”, explaining that the nomination and subsequent adoption of Mr. Chris Ogoegbunem Ijibike as the group’s sole candidate for Ukwuani Chairmanship was based on fact finding by a committee of the Ukwuani Volunteers.
He further disclosed that Mr. Chris Ijibike has the capacity to restructure, stabilize, represent and deliever Ukwuani from the hands of those who pose as chairmanship aspirants for selfish interests and not the general interest of Ukwuani people.
The Ukwuani Volunteers commended the efforts of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s led administration for introducing the Delta Beyond Oil initiative which has uplifted the lives of people in Delta state.
The group argued that the governor’s interest in Ukwuani in the forthcoming election should be geared towards the candidate that would implement the governor’s three-point agenda at the local government areas of the state.
The group therefore recommended and adopt Chris Ogoegbunem Ijibike as a reliable and God fearing candidate to represent the interest of the people in forth coming LGA election.
The Ukwuani Volunteers described Chris Ijibike as a professional elite with vast experience, having served in several capacity as a leader in the Delta State PDP such as LGA Coodinator of The Core Group 2003, LGA coordinator/Senatorial member of PDP Delta North Stabilization committee 2004, Member of PDP Delta North sensitization committee 2005, State Assistant Publicity Seceretary of PDP Delta State 2006, Member of Delta State Presidential Campaign/Peace Committte 2007, Member of LGA Reconciliation committee 2011, Leader Delta People’s Network till date and Leader Ukwuani Coalition For Good Governance till date.
