Anambra State security chiefs met for five hours on Monday, May 5, 2025, to finalize security plans for President Bola Tinubu’s visit on Thursday, May 8.
The meeting, held in Awka, brought together representatives from key agencies including the Police, DSS, Army, Navy, NSCDC, FRSC, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security.
The closed-door session focused on reviewing intelligence, assessing potential threats, and strengthening security measures across the State, particularly in Awka and other key locations.
Discussions encompassed joint operations, coordinated patrols, enhanced surveillance, operational planning, and inter-agency coordination to prepare for various scenarios.
A key outcome is the implementation of robust security protocols designed to ensure a safe and smooth visit for the President, dignitaries, and residents.
Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, highlighted the State’s commitment to peace and stability, noting that the security measures demonstrate a dedication to protecting everyone.
