APC APPEALS TO PRESIDENT TINUBU TO APPOINT ISOKO SON MD SOUTH SOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

The members of All Progressive Congress in Isoko Nation, Delta State, have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Isoko son as Managing Director of South South Development Commission.

The party members made the appeal during a press conference, held at the party secretarial Oleh, Isoko South local government area of Delta State. They appealed to president Tinubu to address the continuous neglect of the Isoko people in federal appointments and infrastructural development.

The statement by Mr. Vincent Egbogbo, Isoko South APC chairman, Daniel Emebunor Esq., Isoko North APC chairman, Hon. Dcns. Mrs. Hoplyn Akpotu – Ayu, State welfare secretary, Surv. Peter Akarogbe, secretary APC Delta State, Comr. Ede Hyacent Ewariezi, Delta South Youth leader and others, demanded Isoko representation in federal appointments.

The members appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the continuous neglect of the Isoko people in federal appointments and infrastructural development, emphazising that Isoko is one of the five ethnic nationalities in Delta State and the second most populous in the region.

It meantained that “the Isoko oil fields produce a substantial amount of oil daily, with a gross output of 383,478.9 barrels, and a net output of 124,578.68 barrels “, adding that the contribution to the national economy should not be overlooked.

The party members stressed that, Isoko has been lacking in essential infrastructural development since independence and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the Isoko Nationality in subsequent federal appointments to address the infrastructural deficiency in the region.

The statement decried total neglect and marginalization of the region, noting that Isoko has been peaceful and does not engage in pipeline vandalism and other destructive activities, causing crisis and unrest.

“We deserve recognition and inclusion in the development of our nation, reflecting our significant contribution in the national economy” it stated.
