The Archbishop of Bethesda Gospel Mission, Irri, Isoko South local government area of Delta State, Archbishop Christian Aggrey O. Apena, has eulogized Hon. Mrs. Catherine Ilolo, former commissioner, local governmentl service commission, Delta State over the sudden demise and described her as very good Christian and philanthropist.

Apena while speaking to newsmen noted that the sudden death of Hon. Mrs. Catherine Ilolo is a big loss. He stated that, she looks for the Orphans, feed and gave them education with her own resources, stressing that her charitable way of life was never announced as she gives secretly.

The clergyman maintained that Catherine Ilolo was called the ‘Dorcas of our time’ as women she has helped in various ways mourned her sudden death, especially contributions and impact made on the society and womenfolk as many depended on her for monthly income.

Archbishop Apena said, Hon. Mrs. Catherine Ilolo was always in government because of her faithfulness, adding that she started politics in 1991 and was among the first state assembly members during the defunct Olorogun Felix Ibru administration. “She remained in successive governments through appointment and never misbehaved as a politician.”

Apena stated that Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State called to commiserate with the immediate family members over the passing on of the former lawmaker. “She loves people and was President of Ewheyae Isoko women organization, a position that gave her the role of a mother in many years.”

According to Archbishop Apena, Hon. Mrs. Catherine Ilolo “trained her children in the way of God. She sent them to expensive schools and inculcated in them discipline and good character,. He noted that she was always punctual to church and donates towards church projects willingly. She looks around for the widows, indigents in the church and quietly makes provision for them.”

The clergyman noted that, “Hon. Mrs Ilolo paid her tithes regularly and always attends Sunday Bible studies. Since I knew her, she has not quarreled with people that leads to settlement and was very good counselor to families that had problems. I played the role of a father while she was alive and the husband never complained to me any day”, he said.
