Archbishop Okeke Urged Inmates To Have Absolute Faith In God

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province Most Reverend Valerian Okeke

charged Inmates of Correctional Center Onitsha to have absolute Faith in God.

The Archbishop gave the charge while delivering a homily at Correctional Center, Onitsha during an Easter Sunday service with the inmates.

He called on the inmates to always have faith in God, stating that with Him, their problems will be solved and charged them to always channel their problems to Him.

Archbishop Okeke described Easter as a celebration of victory and counselled Nigerians to cue into the celebration for a total transformation in all spheres of their lives.

He said nothing is impossible with God, while nothing also happens by accident or mistakes in the affairs of God.

Archbishop Okeke who showered the inmates with various gift items charged them to have faith and be prayerful reminding them that God did not forsake the Israelites when they called on to him while facing imminent danger from the Egyptians who were pursuing them as they approached the Red Sea.

He charged the people to move forward with fidelity, faith and total abandonment to the will of God, noting that with faith one can do greater things.

In his remarks the Chaplain Onitsha Correctional Center, Reverend Father Bath Okpalugo, thanked Archbishop Okeke for his achievements in the facility, especially the ongoing Skill Acquisition Center

Rev. Fr. Okpalugo also extolled Governor Soludo for his giant strides in the State and called for support from Ndi Anambra.

Speaking to our correspondent, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi  Chuma-Ude, said she was privileged to be part of the Mass to identify with the inmates and asked them to believe in God.

The Controller of Correctional Center in Anambra State Mr Patrick Chukwuemeka, who appreciated Archbishop Okeke for remembering them asked God to continue to bless him.

The event attracted some friends of the facility including, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Education Professor Chuma-Ude, member representing Onitsha Constituency Two, Mr Edward Ibuzo, Director Catholic Women’s Organization Onitsha Archdiocese, the Controller Correctional Center in Anambra State Mr Patrick Chukwuemeka, among others.
