True to expectation, Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has concluded plans to join forces with the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Blank NEWS Online can reveal.

The move by Atiku, who is touted to be interested in the 2015 Presidential ticket, is coming on the heels of his recent nationwide consultation with key political stakeholders in the six geo-political zones of the country, namely South South, South East, South West, North Central, North West and North East.

Although he has not formally declared his resolve to jettison the PDP, his close associates have expressed optimism that Atiku is resolute on decamping to APC with his supporters due to his being allegedly sidelined by the ruling party in its activities, even as Board Of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Council (NEC) member respectively.

Atiku’s new resolve to finally dump the PDP has also been hinged on President Goodluck Jonathan’s alleged kick against healthy democratic competition, where all PDP governors had allegedly issued him with automatic return ticket, therefore undermining the political interest other members of the ruling party.

Atiku, a staunch member of the PDP, known for his uncompromising manner when things turn awry, and especially recalling his political embattlement when he was Vice President to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, is said to be treading towards familiar grounds of the APC, which has enjoyed his underground support in its formation stages and eventual registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
