AZEMHE AZENA SALUTE EDO WOMEN, CALLS FOR INCLUSION IN GOVERNANCE

The youthful Governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in the upcoming Edo election, Dr Azemhe Azena, has called for women’s empowerment and inclusion in governance especially in Edo state.

In his message through his media team to mark the celebration of International Women’s Day today, the popular politician and Televangelist in line with the theme of this year’s event, called for the need to inspire women to greater heights to achieve accelerated progress “as we celebrate their many achievements all the time”

Dr Azemhe Azena who said he has been involved in women empowerment programs for over a decade in Edo state, added that one of his main focus if elected, will be that of women emancipation, especially the rural women.

International women’s day is a day set aside ( March 8) by the United Nations, UN, to celebrate the global social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and also a call for action to advance gender equality.

The theme for this year is “Invest in Women: Accelerate progress” with an emphasis on tackling women’s economic disempowerment.
