Breaking: Kidnapped Delta Monarch Regains Freedom

A traditional ruler in Delta state, HRH Sunday Olisewokwu, Obi of Ogodo community in Aniocha North local government area who was kidnapped Sunday has been released by his abductors.

He was reportedly released on Tuesday evening around Asaba and is presently in a hospital for series of medical checkup.

The House of Assembly member for Aniocha North Engr. Emeka Nwaobi   who has been on top of the matter alongside other political chieftains and the Aniocha North Traditional Council of Chiefs was said to have quickly taken the Ogodo Monarch to a private hospital in Asaba.

It is not clear if any monies exchanged hands before the King was released but his abductors had allegedly demanded for fifteen million naira for him to regain his freedom.

Sources say while in custody of the kidnappers, the monarch was allowed to make and take calls.

It will be recalled that the Ogodo Monarch was kidnapped by masked men Sunday on his way to his domain from Issele Mkpetime.
