Buni Seeks More Partnership With Customs

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has assured the commitment of his administration to strengthen working relationship between Yobe state and Nigeria Customs Service.

He gave the assurance on Wednesday when he visited the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Mr. Adewale Adeniyi.

Buni said as a border state, Yobe state government and the Nigeria Customs need to synergise to be proactive on security and other issues along the border.

He said: “The government and people of Yobe state would continue to support the Nigeria Customs and other security organisations to execute their duties effectively and successfully.

“While congratulating you on this well deserved appointment, l wish to assure you of our support and cooperation in Yobe state.”

The Customs Acting Comptroller General said Yobe state is very strategic for Customs border operations.

He said: “We will appreciate your support to enlighten the people of Yobe state especially the border communities to assist us execute our duties.”

He commended Buni for the visit, assuring that he would also visit the state to build on the existing relationship.
