Conflict: Orodje, Okpe Union Leaders Parley •	As Uduaghan, Utuama Gets Community Support

The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd) will Saturday, July 14, 2012 meet with the leaders of Okpe Union Worldwide.

In a statement released by its Secretary General, Mr. Henry Ebireri, the union said the meeting is aimed at resolving the misgivings of members of Okpe traditional council against the leadership of Okpe Union Worldwide.

The meeting called by His Royal Majesty is also to douse the tension arising from the impeachment of Mr. Ralph Karieren as well as appraise the union’s role as an agent of development.

Ag. President General and leader of the delegation, Mr. John Ekpoke is expected to brief the monarch on the activities of the union in the last one year.

“We can tell you that the outcome of the meeting will bring cheers to Okpe people at home and abroad” the statement added.

In another development, the people of Ovwor-Olomu Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State have expressed their appreciation to the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for his developmental stride in the community.

In a statement signed by the President General of the Community, Chief Amos Oyoroko, Okpakorere, Ovwor Community, Pa John Efeurhiewe, the Otota, Ovwor Community, Chief Samuel Ichipi, the Otota, Olomu Community, Chief M. P. Ovbagbedia and the Secretary General, Ovwor Community, Mr. Jonathan Ofuyovwi noted that the Uduaghan administration has singled handedly tarred the Nine (9) roads in the community which were in deplorable situation and made access to the area difficult.

“No chronicle of Ovwor Olomu will be complete without reference to Prof Amos Utuama, whose love and effort made the government to singlehandedly tarred all the streets in the community at once,” the statement said

They observed that infrastructural development was an impetus to social development stressing that the Uduaghan administration has done a lot to improve the living standard of the people and should therefore be commended.

“We are short of words to thank the governor, before now our roads were eye-sore but today they are motorable. The community wears a new look. The community wears a new look. Your input in attracting development to the community is quite invaluable.”

The people also thanked the governor for associating with their son Chief J.U. Oguma and pledged their continuous support for the Uduaghan administration.

“We join others to thank the Almighty God who granted the governor victory at various courts.”
