The Managing Direcrot/Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun Askia Ogieh FCNA, CrFA, has delivered a speech in Pidgin English on how to protect ourselves against the Corona Virus Pandemic.
The Special Speech by Bashorun Askia centers on how citizens can easily control and prevent the fast killing Corona Virus from infecting people in Isoko Nation, Delta state and also curtail the spread in Nigeria respectively

“My people, na me o, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, wey be Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for DESOPADEC. Na me dey bring una this message.
“This sickness wey dem dey call Corona virus na true true mata, no be lie. Our work na na how to make sure say this sickness no spread too much. E go better make everybody dey wash him hand always. Everytime, just dey wash am, wash am clean.
“When you wash am finish, take towel dry am well, then you go use sanitizer put am for hand, take am rub your hand well well. Make you sanitizer your hand everytime. Make you no say everything go stay from morning till evening.
“Then if you see say e be like say your throat don dey dry or the cough wey dey come don dey dry or maybe fever don enter your body, e go better make you go where dem dey do treatment. If na clinic near you, go there make you go report yourself make them for treat you well well because why? Na person wey dey alive, na him we fit serve o. We want make you dey alive well well for us so that the good things wey we promise say we go do and wey we don start to dey do, you go fit get them, e go fit reach your place. Na I’m make me I say make I bring this message.

Meanwhile, in an effort to protect staff and visitors against the Coronavirus pandemic, DESOPADEC has begun the installation of preventive equipment at all entrances and offices of the Commission.
The Management swung into action by giving approval to the Medical Health and Safety Services Unit to install infra-red thermometers, automated soap sanitizing machines as well as hygiene enabling accessories.
This effort is aimed at ensuring full compliance with government directive to be on high alert against any potential case and be on top of the game in this regard.
It is expected that the full installation and implementation of these measures will come into effect in the days ahead.

All and sundry are advised to take the precautions and guidelines regarding simple and regular hygiene, through hand washing and sanitizing, to be on the side of prevention.
