A none political and social cultural group known as United Leadership of Oleh Community in Isoko South local government area of Delta State, has presented food items worth over 4 million Naira for distribution to residents of Oleh community to support Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State food bank initiative to cushion the sufferings occasioned by COVID 19 pandemic in the area.

Presenting 400 bags of rice and 50 bags of salt to the President General of Oleh kingdom, Chief Believe Alakri, the leader of the group Chief Barrister Joe Arausi, Chairman Governing Board of Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic said, the food items should be distributed to the vulnerable in Oleh kingdom, both indigenes and non indigenes.

Chief Arausi noted that, the initiative was put together by Hon. Kenneth Ogba, member Delta State House of Assembly representing Isoko South constituency 1, Hon. (Mrs.) Catherine Ilolo, Commissioner Delta State Local Government Service Commission and Sir. Mathias Eto, Special Adviser to the Speaker Delta State House of Assembly, to support Governor Okowa’s food bank palliative measures to alleviate the effect of COVID 19 on the vulnerable in Oleh community.

Arausi commended Hon. Kenneth Ogba, Hon. Mrs. Catherine Ilolo and Sir Mathias Eto and other members of the group for the initiative, noting that the group will continue to provide more palliative measures to cushion the sit – at – home order occasioned by COVID 19 pandemic.

Other members of the group are Pastor, Barr. Tos Ojogho, Chief Victor Egbo, Engr. Daniel Omoyibo, Hon. Ericon Igbudu, Hon, Inspector Edafe, Hon. Becky Ayamu and Mr. Solomon Osuemerai.

Receiving the food items, the President General of Oleh kingdom, Chief Believe Alakri and executive members of Oleh Community Development Union, assured of equitable distribution of the food items to all the streets and layouts of the community.

He commended the group for the food items which according to him will serve as palliatives to cushion the effects of COVID 19 Lockdown to residents of Oleh kingdom. Alakri stated that he has called the street chairmen and women leaders to identify the vulnerable for effective distribution of the food items.

The president general added that the union executive will monitor the distribution even as he assured that no youth will be allowed in the distribution of the items.

Alakri said, the distribution will commence immediately from the source location to all the streets and those identified as beneficiaries will all be reached accordingly.
