The First Lady of Delta State and founder of 05-Initiative, Dame (Mrs.) Edith Okowa has encouraged Nigerian women to be positive in their thoughts and actions to endear prosperity and goodwill to trhe society.
Dame Okowa stated this during the 9th edition of the Delta Mothers’ Day Of Prayer, tagged “Mothers Arise: Let your voice be heard”, on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
She described women as ambassadors of the Lord who are endowed with the good news of life, transformation and abundant blessings which must be transfered to the children, as future leaders.
The prayer session was attended by hundreds of women from within and outside Delta state and witnessed the rendition of hymns, songs of praise to God and worship, the Governor’s wife and host of the event told women to be fervent in prayers and seek God’s wisdom in their efforts to bring up their children in the ways of the Lord.
Earlier, Mrs Ngozi Nwama, who prayed that God helps Dame Edith Okowa to continue to nurture the programme to the glory of God, said the Delta Mothers’ Day Of Prayer, which started in 2007 is an annual programme of women coming together to nurture Delta state spiritually.
While quoting Ezekiel 22:30, she said there was the need to pray for Delta state and Nigeria, adding that being in harmony with God’s words is a mark of preservation which will usher in deliverance, healing for the sick and salvation of souls.
Speaking on Exaltation, Barr. (Mrs) Christiana Samson espoused on “The power of spoken words” with Bible reference on Numbers 14:38, Proverbs 18:21 and Numbers 27.
While declaring that spoken words can make or mar destinies and create or destroy lives, she urged women to speak life and deliverance that will add value to their lives by being pathfinders rather than fault finders.
Prayers to prosper Delta state were cconducted by Pastor Godwin Oyenache, Pastor Chuks and Ven. Charles Osemene.
