The rerun election held on Saturday, April 25, 2013 as fellows:- SAPELE WARDS: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11; OKPE WARDS: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9; UDU WARDS: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10; UVWIE WARDS: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10; UGHELLI NORTH WARDS: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10; and the entire ETHIOPE-EAST LOCAL GOVT.

It could also be recalled that Chief Amori of the PDP was already leading with 20,000 votes at the earlier collated results of the March 28 National Assembly elections.

Announcing the results, the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] said Amori polled 116,723 votes to defeat two other contestants.

According to the returning officer for the election, Prof. Prekeyi Tawari-Fideyin,
Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege of the Labour party scored 76,635 votes, while Halims Agoda of the APC polled 15, 491 votes.

The margin of victory with which Amori defeated his opponents, is a reaffirmation of PDP’s absolute supremacy in Delta state.

“The people of Delta Central have overtly demonstrated their love and confidence in the PDP. It is now clear to the opposition that they have no root in Delta politics. With this clear victory, it is hoped that losers will accept defeat with equanimity and congratulate the winner,” a leader of the political party said.
