The Delta state Ministry of Information Chapel of the NUJ has on Tuesday, June 04, 2013 been formally constituted.

The new exco is headed by Comrade salvation Ogono who was returned for a second term in office.

The oath of office was administered on Comrade Okolie Patrick (Treasurer), Comrade Oteri Toju (Secretary), Comrade Salvation Ogono (Chairman) by a legal adviser under the supervision of the state Vice Chairman of NUJ, Delta state Council, Comrade Felix Igbekoyi, the state Secretary, Comrade Gomo Oyibokuku Oyiborhoro, the state Treasurer, Comrade Victor Eyaguobor and the state Financial Secretary, Comrade Celestine Afakoba as well as leaders of the Union.

Other aspirants who had breached constitutional provisions were either disqualified by the Credentials Committee headed by Celestine Ofuani (Chairman) and Austin Ihonor (Secretary) or recommended for a waiver at the discretion of the state council of the NUJ.

The aspirants however did not turn up for the election. They include Chairmanship aspirant, Comrade Ogbeni Tebefia who was summarily disqualified for not meeting with relevant constitutional provisions, while Enohor O.and Pat Gbemudu who picked forms to contest the position of Secretary and Financial Secretary respectively were absent.

Following the disqualification of Comrade Ogbeni Tebefia by the Credential Committee set up by the Ministry of Information Chapel, Comrade Ogono Salvation was therefore returned unopposed at the election which witnessed a large turnout of NUJ members, elders, leaders and other Chapel executives, including security agencies earlier invited by the Ofuani-led Credentials Committee.

That ppl can tell barefaced lies like is seen in this story in name of journalism is to say the least most disappointing. Lego, I’m truly disappointed that u could do this.
