Delta: Ogeah Assures Delta Assembly Speaker of Positive Media Support

Delta state Commissioner for Information, Chike Ogeah Esq has assured the new Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Onwusanyan of unhindered media access and cooperation in his new assignment to pilot the affairs of the legislature.

Ogeah who was accompanied by a retinue of media practitioners in the state during a courtesy call on the Speaker on Wednesday, April 03, 2014 in his office at the state House of Assembly, said his visit was appropriate as the Commissioner for Information in Delta state.

He assured the Speaker that media practitioners in the state were determined to support the legislature positively in the discharge of legislative duties and in the overall interest of the state.

In his response, the Speaker, Hon. Peter Onwusanyan thanked Barr. Ogeah for the visit and affirmed that the 5th Assembly has been a success as a result of the collective contributions of all members of the House to render service and ensure development of the state.

He noted that it is obvious that the media has contributed immensely to the growth of the state Assembly, especially in helping to enhance the smooth co-operation between the executive and the legislature.

He therefore called on media practitioners in tha state not to hesitate in partnering with the state Assembly in the discharge of their duties, adding that the legislature is not unaware of the Freedom of Information law which enhances transparency in governance.
