The Honourable Commissioner for Works, Urban and Highway Roads, Comrade Reuben Izeze has assured that the Delta State Government will ensure that the Otowhodo flyover project in the State will be delivered according to specification and standard.

The Honourable Commissioner gave this assurance when he played host to the delegation led by the Chairman Ughelli North Local Government Area, Barr. Jaro Egbo and  representatives of the Otorwodo Community in his office in Asaba.

He noted that in keeping to his promise of providing quality infrastructure for Deltans, His Excellentcy Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori had awarded the Otowhodo flyover project located in Ughelli North Local Government Area to  Julius Berger the reputable construction company.

“the Otowhodo flyover project located in Ughelli North Local Government Area had been awarded to Julius Berger Construction Company known for delivering projects to specification and standard.

” this particular project is not only about the provision of infrastructure, it will also provide jobs for indigenes of the community where it is located.” The Honourable Commissioner said.

He commended the Otorwodo Community for their cooperation towards ensuring that the project is successful.

The Works Commissioner enjoined the Council Chairman to ensure that peace and security is maintained throughout the duration of the project.

On his part the Chairman Ughelli North Local Government Area, Barr. Jaro Egbo said that Otorwodo Community and Ughelli Kingdom in general are grateful to his Excellentcy, Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori for deeming it fit to locate the flyover project in their community.

He promised that they would provide all that is required for the project to be successfully completed for the benefit of the community and the State in general.

Other members of the delegation that pledged their support toward the success of the project were; Dr. Chris Oharisi, representative of the Council of Chiefs, Olorogun Samuel Akpimegi, President General, Ughelli Descendants Union, Pastor Ovigue Ugharugba President Otorwodo Community, Mr. Umudi Ohwofasa, Otorwodo Youth Chairman, Mr. Louis Agofure Member Otorwodo Council of Chiefs.

Also present were Engr. Dr. Juliet Aboloje, Director Highways and functioning PS, Min of Works Urban & Highways and  other representatives of the Ministry.
