Host Communities of Nigeria Oil and Gas trained pipeline surveilance security outfit has been urged to be vigilant, dodged combatant, indomitable and to report any ilegal pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.

Prince (Dr.) Mike Emuh, commandant General gave the charge at Olomoro, Isoko South local government area of Delta State when he inaugurated HOSCON Oil and Gas Security Pipeline Surveilance Outfit that will work in collaboration with the Joint Task Force (JTF), NPF, and NSCDC to checkmate pipeline vandalism, oil theft in the creeks, iligal refinaries and oil bunkering.

He stated that the aim of the security outfit is to promote peace and development in the Oil and Gas production impacted Communities and States of Nigeria, and to agitate for the provision of infrastructures, financial assistants, scholarship, empowerment, skill acquisition and employment by the various governments to people of the Oil and Gas Communities.

Dr. Emuh maintained that the Surveilance Outfit will ensure greater participation of the Oil and Gas Communities in the appropriation and utilization of Oil and Gas resources for the direct benefit of the producing Communities.

He added that the PIA approved by the President of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari will recognize HOSCON for direct payment of the 3% to various Communities, just as he noted that the security outfit will not align with Boko Haram, IPOB and the division and Nigeria.

Dr. Emuh said, Nigeria will remain one indivisible, focused, united entity endured in peace and progress, just as he noted that about 10 thousand youths successfully trained from states / Communities in 22 states of Nigeria, in pipeline surveilance security outfit will be posted to various States and Communities of the country.

For his part, the National Commandant, Ppt CG. A.F. Makpa, called on Traditional rulers and President General of the Oil and Gas States / Communities to collaborate with HOSCON to ensure successful take off and engagement of the security and surveilance outfit.

He noted that the National Security (NPF, NSCDC, JTF) has been overwhelmed by security challenges across states and Communities, hence the necessity for a specialized Community based Oil and Gas Security (Pipeline Surveilance) outfit.

Also speaking, Akpastor Samuel Success, the National Youth Coordinator to HOSCON stated that, with the Grand Breaking event, pipeline infrastructures will no longer be vandalized and there is employment for the people of the Niger Delta.

He said, the initiative is from the office of the special advicer to the President, Senator Eta Eyang, adding that very soon the work will commence accordingly.

The high point of the ceremony was the release of peagens and balloons into Olomoro Community and cutting of tape with hoisting of National flags to signal the take off of the Oil and Gas Security Pipeline Surveilance Outfit with the headquarter in Olomoro Kingdom, Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

Present during the inuaguration was Traditional rulers, President generals, Clergymen and a cross section of men, women and the youths from various States and Communities of Niger Delta.
