FORMER DELTA SSG, UKAH ELECTED COUNCIL MEMBER OF NIPR @ UYO AGM

Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Patrick Ukah has been elected council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, at the ongoing Annual General Meeting of the Institute taking place at ceedapeg Hotels Uyo, Akwa Ibon State.

Ukah was elected alongside with sixteen others into the highest echelon of NIPR.
The election, which was held today May 22, 2025, at the ongoing Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NIPR was conducted electronically for the first time in the institute’s history and was very credible and transparent.

The election had a total of 738 persons accredited, with 518 persons voting, representing 71% of voters. Out of 20 candidates screened for the election, 17 contested, while three opted out. The President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, was re-elected with a total of 518 votes, the Vice President secured 468 votes, and Patrick Ukah garnered 422 votes.

‘Ukah election into the council has strategically positioned Delta State Chapter in the national scheme of things in the Institute’ and Ukah’s tenure as Council Member of NIPR would fast track the growth of the chapter in the state. says Elder Emma Ogidi a senior fellow of the Institute.

Ukah’s victory has made Delta State in good standing both in local and national affairs of NIPR to raise the bar of professionalism and ethical standards.
