The people of Atani Kingdom came together in grand celebration as His Royal Highness, Igwe Azuka Augustine Ngoddy (Eze Ogwugwie II of Atani Idu-Na-Oba), marked the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the throne during the 2nd Ofala Festival.
The festival, which coincides with the Christian season of Advent, was filled with pageantry, thanksgiving, and cultural displays.
In his address, Igwe Ngoddy expressed profound gratitude to God for granting peace, grace, and divine mercy throughout his reign.
He welcomed guests including dignitaries, in-laws, friends, and citizens, acknowledging their role in the shared heritage of Atani.
“This day is a reality because we planned it, and the Almighty God approved it,” the Igwe said. “May the merciful God who has granted us His divine peace continue to bless and guide us.”
The Ofala Festival marks a decade and a month since the inaugural edition held in November 2014, shortly after Igwe Ngoddy’s coronation as the 16th Eze of Atani.
Reflecting on his reign, the Monarch highlighted the core values that have guided his leadership: courageous humility, genuine love for one another, and a commitment to community unity over division.
Referencing ancient Chinese wisdom, the Monarch likened the past ten years of leadership to a thousand-mile journey marked by reflection, growth, and service. “It seems entirely appropriate to ask the fecundate question: how far have we come?” he posed.
He reiterated a vision laid out at his maiden Ofala address to live, to learn, to love, and to leave a legacy which has since become the cornerstone of his reign and the guiding light for the Atani community.
The celebration ended on a note of gratitude and prayer, with the Monarch praying for the safe return of all attendees and invoking blessings in the name of Jesus Christ.
