IPMAN, Warri Depot Embraces Peace As Uduaghan Reconciles Warring Factions

The warring factions of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Warri Depot yesterday resolved to work together in the interest of peace in Warri axis and progress of the association.

Rising from a peace parley convened in Asaba by the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the factions disclosed that they have agreed to put their differences aside for peace to reign in the association.

Fielding questions at the end of the closed door meeting, the Vice Chairman of IPMAN Warri Depot, Comrade Benjamin Emoefe stated that all efforts towards consolidating on the peace within the association would be pursued with vigour by all members

“There is now peace in Warri Depot of IPMAN. We have resolved all issues amicably and we have promised to work together for the progress of the association”, Emoefe, leader of one of the factions stated.

On his part, the Chairman of IPMAN, Warri Depot Comrade Akpo Edafevwoture, leader of the second faction, said that the Governor has prevailed on them to “maintain peace and go back to work together in harmonious relationship”.

“The Governor wants to see us work together as we have been doing before the crisis”, Edafevwoture stated, adding: “issues of elections will be resolved in six months time”.

He said that members of the IPMAN have agreed to hold their elections on November 20, 2014 .

They commended Governor Uduaghan for intervening in the crisis and promised that they would give peace a chance and work together as a united association.

The State Commissioner for Information, Barr. Chike Ogeah who also fielded questions from journalists after the meeting, said members of the marketers association have agreed to sheath their swords and resolve their differences amicably.

According to Ogeah, the differences between the various factions of IPMAN in Warri Depot have been resolved and that members of the association have agreed to work amicably for the progress of members and in the interest of peace in the state and the country.

He cautioned that IPMAN members should desist from further actions that would cause a breach of peace in the state.
