KIDNAPPED VICTIM DIES IN THE HANDS OF ABDUCTORS

An elderly man kidnapped by his nephew Mr. Evi Okumo, leader of suspected group of kidnappers from Ada – Irri in Isoko South local government area of Delta State, has died while in custody of the kidnappers at Olomoro, Isoko South local government area of the State.

The trail for the kidnappers after some days of their hide out was intensified by the police from Oleh division and two members of the gang were arrested in a residential building at Olomoro were the elderly man was kept. The source said, the victim died after three days in the hands of the abductors.

A mob action set the house ablaze after the arrest of the kidnappers. The source revealed that Mr. Evi Okumo 36 years, requested for money from the son of the late victim that was kidnapped. The request was turned down which according to the source led to the abduction.

The Delta State police public relation officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka who confirmed the incident said, locally made cut to size barrel gun was found at the location of victim rescue. He stated that the suspected kidnappers have confessed to the crime and more interrogation will be carried out by the police on the rest members of the gang.
