Nigerian Senate Passes N6.06 Trillion 2016 Budget

The Senate on Wednesday passed the 2016 Appropriation budget, totalling N6.06 trillion.

The breakdown of the budget passed shows statutory transfer of N351 billion, Debt service of N1.4 trillion, recurrent 2.6 trillion, Capital Expenditure N1.59 trillion and fiscal deficit N2. 2trillion.

Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Senator Danjuma Goje, said the budget has already been harmonised by both the upper and lower chambers before presenting it.‎

Goje also said the committee observed omission of some Agencies in the budget.

He however, hastened to add that the service wide votes will take care of the omission of workers salary in the 2016 budget.
