As the Nigeria National League Super Eight Promotion Play-Offs for 2024/2025 Season commence Saturday at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, Asaba and the Jay Jay Okacha Stadium, Ogwashi-Ukwu , Chairman of the NNL Board, George Aluo , says adequate arrangement has been made to ensure a successful competition.
Aluo who spoke at the draw for match fixtures ceremony at the VIP hall of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, gave an assurance of fair officiating.
While congratulating the clubs that qualified for the Super Eight League from Conferences A, B, C and D, he hinted that none of the four clubs that gained promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL in the just concluded season returned to the NNL with commendation to the Ikorodu FC that performed well.
The NNL Board Chairman commended the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation for demonstrating confidence in the Board as well as the Delta State Government for accepting to host the Super Eight League flagship competition.
He posited that the Nigeria National League had been repositioned under his leadership, and gave an assurance of better performance in his second tenure in office with the Super Eight being the first official assignment.
In an address of welcome, Chairman of Delta State Football Association, Godwin Adedo who expressed delight for the opportunity given to the state to host the NNL Super Eight League , thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the the Delta State Sports Commission for their massive support and investment in sports development.
The ceremony was attended by all board members of NNL, officiating team, representatives of NFF, representatives of the eight clubs competing in the Super Eight League :Barau FC, Yobe Desert Stars FC, Wikki Tourists FC, Doma United FC, Crown FC , Kun Khalifat FC, Osun United FC and Warri Wolves FC.
The weeklong competition will be climaxed next Saturday with the final match to determine the champions of the Super Eight League this season .
