Onitsha bank manager’s murder: police arrest two suspects after ₦14 million ransom

Two suspects, Monday Egbe (32) and Kenneth Nnoga (28), have been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager in Onitsha.

The arrests, made on May 28, 2025, came after a significant ransom of ₦14 million was paid.

The victim’s lifeless body was discovered on January 13, 2025, along Nnobi Road, blindfolded.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the suspects were apprehended following days of surveillance in a neighboring State.

They are currently being questioned to determine their full involvement and potential accomplices.

Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu emphasized the command’s ongoing commitment to bringing all those responsible to justice.

He reaffirmed the police’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of Anambra State residents.
