Members of Onu Ika have been called upon to be steadfast in their support for the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as it is the first time the area is producing the Governor of the state.

The member representing Ika Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Nwokolo, gave this advice on Thursday in Boji-Boji Owa when he presented a brand new 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus to the group.

He said that he was very happy to have a reliable mentor in the person of Senator Okowa who is quite determined to bring prosperity to the door steps of all Deltans.

Hon. Nwokolo disclosed that he decided to present the bus to the group because its members have been attending different ceremonies in Abuja and Asaba in their private vehicles or through public means.

He advised members of the group to put the bus to proper use in order to justify the reason the vehicle was given to them.

Speaking after the keys of the bus was presented, the Head, Collective Leadership of Onu Ika, Nigeria, Mr. Daniel Usifor, expressed appreciation to Hon. Nwokolo for his kind gesture assuring that the vehicle will be used for the purpose it was donated.

He said that the presentation of the bus came to the group as a surprise and called on other politicians in the area to double their efforts in bringing the dividends of democracy to the people of the area.

Also speaking during the ceremony, the Assistant Secretary of the group, Barr. Benson Melekwe, described Hon. Nwokolo as a trail-blazer who have been associating with the body, adding that the donation was unprecedented.
