Managing Director/CEO of the DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh FCNA, CrFA, has joined other Nigerians and Deltans to felicitate with the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on his emergence as the Chairman of the South South Governors’ Forum.
He described Governor Okowa as a selfless leader, with an outstanding political will, exemplary leadership qualities, people oriented policies and ability for good governance, all of which have brought Delta State to the limelight, as an investment destination, considering His Excellency’s huge delivery, in human and infrastructure growths across the state.
Bashorun Askia, a unique leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Delta State, said that Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s rare quality was proven to Nigeians, when he was Chairman of the PDP National Convention Planning Committee and organised a globally accepted, hitch-free and most successful political party convention in history.
The party chieftain, who was a member of the National Electoral Committee that conducted the party’s national delegate election, also lauded the efforts of the Delta State Governor, for standing for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at all times.
He noted that the unanimous selection of the Delta State Governor by his South South colleagues, though a challenging responsibility, was well deserved and reflective of Governor Okowa’s zeal to project the party’s people oriented manifestos for local, state, regional, national and global acceptance.
“His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is the round peg in the round hole needed to further salvage and boost the party in all fronts. He is a political leader with the right qualities to deliver. Mark it that the best transformation has just begun for PDP because he has the ability of piloting the affairs of the South-South Governors Forum, to greater heights, for the benefit of the people of the South-South geo-political zone’, he confirmed.
