Scholarship award: Monarch eulogies Okowa, Mutu, Penawou others for consistent support

The Pere of Akugbene Mein Kingdom, and first Vice Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty S. P Luke, Kalanama Vlll (JP) has eulogised the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, member representing Bomadi / Patani federal Constituency in National Assembly, Hon. Nicholas Mutu, the traditional Prime Minister (Iyasere) of the Kingdom, Chief Joseph Penawou and others for consistently supporting the annual Thanksgiving, Scholarship award and conferment of Chieftaincy titles to deserving sons and daughters of the kingdom.

Speaking during the 13th edition of the event that held recently at Akugbene Community, Bomadi Local Government Area, Pere Kalanama said that Okowa and others had been magnanimous towards the program over the years, especially in the area of scholarships award to students from the Communities in the Kingdom and LGA.

The Monarch disclosed that during his 20th coronation ceremony in 2018, Okowa promised to support the scholarship award programme and as a believer in quality education, has not reneged in his promise, adding that, his contributions towards the programme has added so much value it.

similarly, the Monarch also showered encomiums on Hon. Mutu, Chief Penawou, and others saying that, their passion towards the growth and development of the kingdom has always been worthy of emulation.

The Monarch revealed that God’s benevolence towards him and people of the Kingdom warranted empowering deserving students through their education, which to him, was the bedrock of the family, Kingdom and society at large.

The first Vice Chairman, opined that the annual programme become expedient because God had done so much for him and was also an avenue for him to give back to the Kingdom.

In his words ” 30th Day of every December is a Special DAY for me , and I see 30th December every year as a New year for the next year because of God’s faithfulness, and I am convinced that the Almighty God have blessed Akugbene Mein Kingdom and me tremendously.

“God has so lifted the me, the kingdom and the people , therefore, thanking HIM is an acknowledgement of His kindness, love for us, and to show our profound gratitude to Him” he said.

The Monarch advised sons and daughters of the kingdom to key into the MORE Agenda policy of the present administration so they would continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
